On the morning of May 24, Gu Shaobo, president of Bauing Construction Group Co., Ltd, represented the China Organizing Committee for the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition of the Indonesia Bauing Construction Ltd to donate 2 billion rupiah to the Indonesian Red Cross at the headquarters of the Indonesian Red Cross in Jakarta. Indonesian vice president and general chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross Kalla witnessed the donation and made a speech. 

On the morning of May 24, Gu Shaobo, president of Bauing Construction Group Co., Ltd, represented the China Organizing Committee for the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition of the Indonesia Bauing Construction Ltd to donate 2 billion rupiah to the Indonesian Red Cross at the headquarters of the Indonesian Red Cross in Jakarta. Indonesian vice president and general chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross Kalla witnessed the donation and made a speech.

China Organizing Committee is composed of Collaborative Innovation Center for 21 ^st -Centry Maritime Silk Road Studies, Guangzhou Municipal Artist Association in Guangdong Province, and Bauing Group. Last year, the China Organizing Committee for the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition of the Indonesia Bauing Construction Ltd launched the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition of the Indonesia Bauing Construction Ltd lasting for three days along with the Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia International Daily News, and other organizations, and sold two paintings and calligraphy works of Zhou Guocheng, famous calligrapher and painter as well as chairman of Guangzhou Municipal Artist Association, at auction. The paintings and calligraphy works were 32 square feet in total. Gu Shaobo, chairman of the board of Bauing Group, said on the site of activity that all the money raised at the auction would be donated to the Indonesian Red Cross.

The representative of the Indonesian Red Cross Pak. Ginandjar Kartasasmita said on the donation ceremony, “On behalf of the Indonesian Red Cross, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the China Organizing Committee for the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition of the Indonesia Bauing Construction Ltd. The Indonesian Red Cross is a social organization whose history is as long as that of the Republic of Indonesia. Furthermore, it has done a lot of work in overcoming natural disasters, and has held various kinds of undertakings that are conducive to the social health. As a member of the International Red Cross, the Indonesian Red Cross not only accepts the donations from other organizations, but also takes the initiative to reach out to the countries in need of help, so as to provide services for the whole society.”

Series of works including the 60-meter-longLife in Mountains of the Hakkas displayed on the painting and calligraphy exhibition have aroused public concern, which not only shows the hometown style and features to the Chinese Indonesian, but also transmits Chinese culture to the Indonesian society. The painting and calligraphy exhibition raised money for the Indonesian Red Cross in the form of auction, which has contributed Chinese strength to the folk cultural exchange and philanthropy of China and Indonesia. I hope that this way can promote comprehensive cooperation and exchanges between the people of our two countries, and thus establish deeper and greater friendship.”
