On August 18, Professor Man-Chung Tang, member of the United States National Academy of Engineering, foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and international famous bridge architect, paid a visit to the Bauing Group to discuss strategic cooperation, accompanied by Professor Li Daxi, chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Business, USA and senior consultant of the Bauing Group, at the invitation of Gu Shaoming, chairman of the board of Bauing Group.

In November 2015, Academician Man-Chung Tang was invited to visit the “Bauing Culture Forum” and to give a lecture, themed as “Innovation”, during the 50th anniversary of the founding of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and forged a deep friendship with the Bauing Group. Academician Man-Chung Tang has successively presided over and participated in the design, construction and supervision of hundreds of long-span bridges, among which a number of bridges set the world records in the span at the completion of the projects. Man-Chung’s designs can be found in all continents of the world and have been hailed by the industry as “the sun never sets on a Dr. Tang bridge”. Man-Chung’s representative designs are as follows: “Knie Bridge” (1965) and “Neuenkamp Bridge” (1967) in Germany, the longest span cable-stayed bridges in the world; “Pine Valley Creek Bridge” (1975), the first long-span prestressed concrete bridge in the United States; and world-renowned Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in China.
